Children in Yogyakarta
In Yogyakarta, Setia helps children from struggling families to keep going to school.

Yogyakarta, the old sultan's city in Central Java, is a touristic and strongly Islamic city. Many residents live off tourism, with good times and bad. When a family falls apart through death or divorce, poverty is close at hand and children can no longer afford school.
The Marga Mulyo church, on the touristic Malioboro street, supports these families through its diaconate. Each month a child receives a contribution so it can go to school; every year it is reviewed who still needs help. Setia's chairman worked in Yogyakarta for a year and a half and knows this work first-hand.
Children within the same type of school all receive the same amount, which prevents jealousy among them. The children are deliberately not shown on the website, which protects their privacy.
We have been doing this for two years now, and it is wonderful to see these children able to go to school again. We would like to help more than ten of them. Will you join in? Would you like to stay in touch with one of the children? Then please contact us.
