Malang lies in East Java. Together with Petrus Widyaya, Setia began supporting Christian education here.

State schools receive government support; special schools do not. Christian schools must fund themselves and are therefore more expensive. Parents then sooner choose a state school, and so do teachers; many Christian schools see their enrolment decline. It is precisely these schools that also welcome children from less well-off families.

Setia believes it is important that good Christian schools continue to exist. We support schools with a strong teaching team that are valued by the inspectorate and are growing. The support varies: sometimes a renovation, sometimes a breakfast project, sometimes learning materials or a token of appreciation for the teachers.
