Policy plan of Stichting Setia

Setia is grateful for the opportunities for Christian education that exist in our country. Christian education is also possible in Indonesia, but Islamisation is making this harder.

Setia therefore wants to help schools make the best possible use of the room for Christian education, so that God's love and faithfulness are clearly expressed in education too.

Setia provides financial help to schools for the renovation of school buildings and the purchase of learning materials. Setia helps struggling schools with advice and teacher training by covering courses and seminars.

In the Netherlands, Setia draws attention to the difficult position of Christian education in Indonesia through publications and outreach.

Stichting Setia runs a sponsorship programme funded by our donors. With that money we pay school fees, uniforms, textbooks and, where needed, basic necessities for disadvantaged children.

The schools benefit indirectly too, because they receive the steady contributions (school fees).

Every year we send our donors a newsletter with information about our work, our finances and a request for a contribution. Urgent appeals are shared with donors through our mailing list.

Individuals and companies are also approached to contribute. That income is used for direct help to schools.

Stichting Setia has no paid staff. Board members serve on a fully voluntary basis and receive no compensation.

The finances are audited every year by an external accountant. The financial accountability documents are available on our ANBI page, and a financial report is also included in the annual newsletter.

Stichting Setia holds a small reserve, intended as a continuity buffer and as a guarantee that we can keep paying school fees for our sponsored children.

A second reserve is available for emergencies, for example a leaking roof or after events such as an earthquake.

Trips to Indonesia can be organised under the Setia banner, giving participants the chance to meet sponsored children and visit schools.

These trips are paid for entirely by the participants. Depending on interest, we can look at individually organised trips or a group trip.

Personal data. Stichting Setia processes your personal data carefully and securely, always in line with privacy legislation. The data you share with us is shielded from unauthorised access and is not passed on to third parties.

If you, as a sponsor or donor, end your relationship with Stichting Setia, we will not keep your data any longer than we are required to by tax law.

Your rights. Under the law you have the right to see the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to have your data corrected if it is incorrect, and to receive a copy of your data.

Website. No tracking cookies are placed when you visit our website.
