That is what Setia started with in 1992, and it is still the core of our work. Today there is also a sponsorship programme and smaller projects, spread across four regions.

For more than 60 disadvantaged children in Indonesia we cover school fees, uniforms, textbooks and basic family necessities.

Alongside schools and sponsored children we run larger and smaller projects, such as a family home, a preschool or a meal programme.

A kindergarten and primary-school programme in Dessa Dungkan, plus targeted help via local teachers.

Since 2020 we have supported a range of projects in Kupang through Era Koko.

Our local contacts
We don't work from a distance. In every region someone knows the schools, visits the families, and makes sure help truly arrives.

East Java
Our contact in Malang for over 30 years, chair of Hope for the children and a former English teacher. He guides Dutch visitor groups through the region.

Central Java
From Yogyakarta, Sylvia looks after the sponsored children across Central Java in close contact with her father Petrus.

Kalimantan
Runs a kindergarten and a toddler group in Dessa Dungkan and encourages parents to keep their children in school long-term.

A primary-school teacher. Through her we have backed specific Kalimantan projects since 2021.

Timor
A nursing-college teacher in Kupang. Since 2020 our point of contact for various Timor projects.
